Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted a career in healthcare. I pursued a degree in Biology with an emphasis in molecular biology at Dominican University of California. After undergrad I spent time at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging. There I performed drug studies on stem cells for research in Alzheimer’s Disease while working towards applying for medical school. My future was unfolding just as I had envisioned.

Then life decided to throw me a curveball. At the age of 24 I was diagnosed with a rare form of Cirrhosis called Secondary Biliary Cirrhosis. My doctors told me that by the time I was 30 years old I would need a liver transplant. My heart felt like it stopped. It felt like a death sentence. Everything went silent. All the worst-case scenarios ran though my head. Would I live past 30? Will I be in pain all the time? Is it going to hurt?

Even though the medical doctors told me there wasn’t much they could do besides monitor me, and wait until I get on the transplant list, I decided to take action and change my whole lifestyle and began my healing journey. In the midst of finding ways to improve my health and lifestyle, Chiropractic found me.

My boyfriend, at the time, who started seeing a chiropractor, told me that his chiropractor could help with my liver. I was confused on why I would see a chiropractor for my liver, but I was willing to try anything and everything and I am glad I did! Once I was under regular chiropractic care and living a healthier lifestyle my liver labs stabilized and have remained stable into my 30’s.

Chiropractic gave me hope again to live life to the fullest and pursue my dreams and passions. It has shown and reminded me how powerful and capable the human body is of healing itself. I am so excited to be able to give back to my community and give hope to those who have lost it! Chiropractic has changed my life and I can’t wait to be a part of your healing journey and see you live an AWESOME life!

Yours in health,

Dr. Gabby
